Frequently Asked Question
What is a Power Purchase Contract (PPC)?
The Power Purchase Contract is a Legal Contract between Crestflow and the second party defining all commercial terms of Solar Power Service to the 2nd party. It includes the time of project commencement, necessary finance involved, construction and security of the solar system, planned maintenance, operation, management, penalties, payment terms and project termination.
How do Customers make payments?
Our payment plan includes:
-Fixed monthly payment contracts; where a constant fixed fee is made every month and does not depend on the amount of energy produced.
-Payment contract based on the amount of energy produced from the solar system per unit kWh.
-Fixed monthly payment contracts; where a constant fixed fee is made every month and does not depend on the amount of energy produced.
-Payment contract based on the amount of energy produced from the solar system per unit kWh.
Does Crestflow permits a renegotiation of payment/kWh, if the solar system energy expected output is low?
Crestflow does not permit the renegotiation of prices. If the performance is below the performance guarantee, we will balance out your paid amounts by a given percentage.
Who will be responsible for the maintenance care?
As part of the Power purchase contract (PPC), Cretsflow will take care of maintenance via its technical team partners. This will be done based on the schedule in your PPC contract by providing a proper functioning system which helps you save cost throughout the duration of the PPC contract.
Will I still receive utility bills, even after Cretsflow supplies all my energy?
Yes, you will still need to pay some utility bills but there will be a significant cutback by 50%. Once the duration of the payment plan is over, the solar system becomes yours meaning that the energy the solar system provides henceforth will be to your advantage, as you have completed the payment contract and need not pay anymore.
At what stage will I as a client own the solar system?
You will own the system when the PPC contract is over. The duration varies usually between 3 and 20years. Once you have completed the contract, the solar system becomes your own permanently.
Is it possible for the solar system to run almost all my appliances?
Yes, it is very possible because the system will be installed in correspondence to your grid. For an appliance that requires a greater power than that of your solar system, the difference will be supplied to the grid to run. Therefore, the solar system reduces the energy required from your grid to run the appliance. Thus, your appliances run easily on the solar system in combination with your grid connection.
What advantage does the solar system have over my generator/does it replace my generator?
Solar reduces your dependence on fossil fuels, it is noise free compared to your generator, it is sustainable and helps reduce climate change. If you want to completely replace your generator we can offer you a solar integrated with a battery system.
Does the battery completely replace my generator?
In order to reduce your generator runtime significantly or completely, the battery can be installed to run for short term power failure periods. However, we still advice you to keep your generator to serve as an emergency power when the weather seems poor i.e. No sun or when the solar/battery is down.
If there is no sun, how does the solar system run?
So far there have been improvements in solar technology. The solar panels can now collect sun’s energy in cloudy weather condition but at a reduced output. Our solar energy storage systems also have the ability to store energy in excess for later use. The solar systems will work in correspondence with the grid to provide you with the energy you need even in cloudy conditions.
What does the planned maintenance involves?
The planned maintenance as stated in our PPC contract involves the schedule of various maintenance events, time and frequency. The solar panels will be cleaned quarterly as well as checking the temperature of the solar systems quarterly or semiannually.
What does the unplanned maintenance involves?
The unplanned maintenance as stated in the PPC contract occurs in case of system breakdown or failure. The minimum response time for clearly defined cases is stated in the contract and the pricing cost as well as transportation refund is defined for the technician.
